Boisen T. Hansen - Blues & ecstasy I Nordjylland vol.2
Boisen T. Hansen (Theis Boisen Hansen) returns with a second volume of damaged 4 track tape recordings from a past you forgot all about.
It stinks of errors, first takes, hangovers, beer, and strange kind of psychedelia sung completely in Danish (!). It is basically a one-man band led by an ambitious man with keyboards, effects, out off tune guitars and a lot of fun. Boisen T. Hansen released vol. 1 in 2021 and sold the record out pretty fast. But it seems like the vaults are not completely empty yet. Anyway, here is 12 new songs to dive into.
Theis has a long history of being a bass man in different Danish acts such as vivid fast garage punk rock band Columbian Neckties but also as the anchor and sideman in various Copenhagen bands such as the alt. country band Quiet Spring and the Danish folk psych band Vilde Græs. Both fronted by the Danish legendary guitar player of Spids Nøgenhat and On Trial Morten Aron. Theis also started the quite experimental MX/ÆMÆX project with the artist and friend Michael Mørkholt. Here he does all the music himself.
Where vol. 1 where more a folky garage psychedelic record plus one side in English. Vol.2 focus on keyboards and drum machines and singing in his native language. That said there is still some punkers with real drums in the mix. Also, there is room for some “out there” stuff like the deranged and bizarro “Tak for mad” and the Canned Heat influenced rocker “HusHusHus”. The focus is on creating an atmosphere and an environment of the past here. But not in a retro-garage style. And luckily it´s great! Plus good fun to listen to. Boisen T. Hansen has another band called Boisen T. Hilmisson (which includes Iceland
